How downloaded video files work
After you choose a format, a worker fetches the file and your browser saves a copy. The server’s copy is temporary. Your device’s copy is yours to keep or delete.
On the server
YTSave stores the finished file only long enough for you to download it, then deletes it. Job records may last longer for rate limiting and debugging. This site is not a cloud locker or a public video host.
On your device
The browser writes a normal media file. Play it in the built-in player, VLC, or an editor. If a file has video but no sound, the source may have split audio; choose a combined format when the list offers one.
Renaming and sharing
You can rename the file after it downloads. Sharing it is still subject to copyright and the original platform’s terms. Downloading a file does not make you the copyright owner.
