Why a video downloader may fail
A failed download is usually the source refusing the request, not a missing “HD button.” YTSave wraps yt-dlp. It does not bypass sign-ins, CAPTCHAs, or paywalls.
The URL is not public
If a private browser window shows a login prompt, age gate, or “unavailable” message, the downloader will fail too. Private Instagram accounts, protected X posts, and passworded Vimeo videos are in this group.
The site is not in the catalog
YTSave only accepts configured sources and direct media files. An unknown domain is rejected before a download starts. Check the supported sites list rather than assuming every website works.
The source changed or is blocking automation
Platforms change players often. YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram in particular may rate-limit or require a sign-in for automated access. That is a source decision. YTSave will not rotate residential proxies or break CAPTCHAs to get around it.
Size, time, and rate limits
Very large files, long jobs, and too many requests from one network are refused on purpose so the service stays up for everyone. Wait and retry, or pick a smaller format.
